Professional Profile

Mariee Devereux is an engaging educator and professional voice actor based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Currently she is the lead voice of Plum on the PBS Kids web series, Plum Landing and she teaches active transportation workshops throughout Metro Vancouver.

Combining her Bachelor of Education with an extensive performance background has made for a creative and colourful career. Mariee has performed in hundreds of original musical theatre shows for organizations such as Parks Canada, Evergreen Theatre, Calgary Zoo, and Smithsonian National Zoo.

She has delivered outdoor education programs with the Stanley Park Ecology Society and was commissioned by Parks Canada to write and perform in Justine Beaver’s Excellent Adventure.

Mariee’s voice has been featured in animated movies, cartoons and video games. She voiced Talayla, a pink haired Crystal Fairy, in Barbie’s Mariposa and the Fairy Princess, a blond bombshell, Dagger, in Marvel Knight's Sabretooth vs. Wolverine and the friendly purple alien, Plum, in PBS Kids web and game series, Plum Landing. Rapping found Mariee when she was a touring actor at Evergreen Theatre. She continues to surprise and delight anyone around when she lays down one of her family friendly raps.

Educator

Mariee holds a professional teaching degree and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria. She weaves musical parodies, comedy, and educational raps and into everything she teaches. Throughout her career, she’s written and delivered engaging programming for the Smithsonian Zoo, Calgary Zoo, Parks Canada, Stanley Park Ecology Society, B.C. Ferries and Translink.

Writer

Mariee has had the honour of writing and performing a series of shows for various organizations such as Evergreen Theatre, Parks Canada and the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington D.C.

She also designed a scriptwriting and performance program for students ages 10-14. In this 8 week residency program, Mariee works with students to research, write and perform in their own science-based musical theatre show.

Mariee began her life on stage as a child and is best known for her musical theatre performances. She is also skilled in puppetry, improvisation, comedy and theatre for your audiences.
